East Coast Dispatches: Dispatching From The West
Wild Animals and Megacon!
Hey folks,
I know I say this a lot, but it’s true this time — this’ll be a short one. I’m on the west coast and up to my neck in stuff that needs doing. So much stuff that needs doing.
First order of biz:
The WILD ANIMALS collected edition is out today. I’m incredibly proud of this book and hope that everyone reading will consider picking up a copy. Andy, Dee, Rob, and I poured our souls into this book.
Here’s the official solicitation for the book:
WILD ANIMALS TPB
(W) Ed Brisson (A) Andy Kuhn
(C) Dee Cunniffe (L) Rob Jones
Perfect for fans of gritty crime thrillers like Criminal and Parker, Brisson and Kuhn deliver a hard-hitting, high-stakes story that pulls no punches.
Neil’s life has been falling apart ever since his father was killed by crooked cops. Fifteen years later, Neil’s mother lays on her deathbed and he’s stuck in a dead-end job, has nowhere to live, and no hope to speak of. Life keeps kicking Neil and he keeps taking it, too frightened to fight back.
Until now.
With his world crumbling around him, Neil finds himself backed into a corner, with no choice but to make a stand and right the wrongs that have haunted him for years. Revenge is a dangerous path to walk and the deeper Neil goes, the more he realizes that violence is all-consuming.
If you need more convincing, how about I just give you the first issue as a PDF so you can try-before-you-buy? Click here to be drawn into Neil’s world.
If you like it, please consider spreading the word.
My friend Fred Kennedy, along with hyper-talent James “Edward” Clark, also have a new book out today through Mad Cave:
If the title doesn’t grab you, I don’t know to tell you. This book is batshit insane, in the best way possible.
THE FLORIDA HIPPOPOTAMUS COCAINE MASSACRE #1
(W) Fred Kennedy (A/L) James Edward Clark
A no-nonsense federal agent and a lone-wolf cop chase down a brutal drug lord in a flooded amusement park swarming with blood-crazed hippos and cut-throat mercenaries.
Disco Hippo Wonderland is the number one amusement park in Flamingo City. But few realize its corpulent owner, Jans M’jor Discau, is about to release the most potent drug ever created: Coke45! Fortunately for humanity, Agent Clarke Nebraska is on the case! She’ll bring down Discau come heck or high water! That was the plan, until her undercover agent, Tico Senecoza, was captured! And before she can rescue him, Miquel—Tico’s sexy loose cannon of an older brother beats her to the punch, storming into the park with bullets flying. Discau panics, dumping the Coke45 into the hippo enclosure and letting them loose on the park, before fleeing into Wonderland’s tunnel network! Nebraska’s plans are totally off the rails, and things get worse when a marijuana smoke fueled hurricane drowns the park in torrential rain! Now it’s up to Nebraska and Miquel to create an uncomfortable truce to bring Discau down before he escapes!
Appearances:
I’ll be at Megacon Orlando in March!
This is the first time in nearly three years that I'll be a guest at a U.S. show and only the second time since the start of the pandemic. It’s my first time at Megacon, which I’m pretty excited about — it’s a show I’ve been wanting to go to for a few years now.
After taking several years off from doing U.S. and international shows in any meaningful capacity, I’m making an effort to get back to it starting this year. If there are any shows you think I should do, please sound off
I’ll have more announcements on shows shortly!
Food:
If you’re looking for a pasta dish, check this one out. I make it at least once every couple of weeks — takes a little time, but well worth the effort.
Okay!
That’s it from me. As promised, this one was a quicky. I have to bolt and get back to work here.
Because I’m on the west coast, I don’t have access to photos of my handsome man, Lasagna. I’ll double up photos when I get back!
Hope you’re all doing well!
Best,
Ed Brisson
